Eight-Hour Adult Substance Abuse Education Class
(Formerly referred to by the State of Kansas as the Alcohol and Drug Information School)
Choices offers this program generally (certain holidays may alter the schedule) the first and third weekends of each month at our Olathe office.
This is a casual, non-judgmental, dialogue-based program, designed to inform and support the client in their efforts to satisfy Court mandates as well as make safe decisions in the future. A licensed addiction counselor discusses with the class attendees what will be needed to successfully comply with diversion/probation terms, while increasing the participants' understanding of Kansas substance-related laws, developing an awareness of an individual's risks in substance use/abuse, recognizing the influences for use in our society, and developing the tools needed for an individual to protect themselves physically, emotionally, socially, and legally from chemical abuse. The education program begins at 10:00am and finishes at 6:00pm. The cost of the class is $90 (no checks please) as of 9/1/21, payable upon scheduling the class. Please call (913) 390-0100 to schedule attendance and pay via debit or credit by phone.
Twelve-hour Adult Substance Abuse Education Class
(Formerly referred to as the Level II Alcohol and Drug Information School)
The participant in the twelve-hour class will attend a full eight-hour Saturday class and another four-hour class, as indicated above.
This program delves deeper into the consequences of family dynamics, the brain's functioning regarding substance use and abuse, the emotional connection between the individual and substance abuse, and increases recognition regarding how our social and physical dynamics can affect our decisions to participate in alcohol and drug use. The cost of the twelve-hour class is $150 (no checks please) as of 9/1/21, payable at the time of scheduling the class. Again, please contact (913) 390-0100 for details to schedule attendance and pay via debit or credit by phone.
